Holy Family's libraries hold a large number of books representing a diversity of cultures, ethnic groups, languages, and religious traditions, but neither library has a "multicultural book section." Here are some search tips to help you locate appropriate books:
- "Juvenile fiction" refers to stories and "juvenile literature" refers to informational books, as well as folk and fairy tales, and poetry.
- Subject searches including a culture and the word "juvenile" will retrieve both fiction and non-fiction for children and young adults. For example: try searching Mexican Americans and juvenile.
- To find informational books about a country or culture, search the country or culture name and the phrase "juvenile literature."
- Both libraries include many bilingual Spanish/English books for children. To locate books search the topic and the phrase "spanish language materials." For example: Christmas and "spanish language materials."
