Technology @ the Holy Family University Library: iPads at the Library

Guide to new service features and new technology from the Holy Family University Library

For Students

IPads are now available for students to check out at both the Philadelphia Campus Library and the Newtown Learning Resource Center.

  • You can check out an iPad as long as you have your HF photo ID and don't owe $10 or more in fines
  • You'll be asked to sign an agreement form before receiving the iPad, which we'll keep on file
  • You'll receive the iPad, charger and cord, and a 'getting started' card in a case. We need all of this back when you return the iPad
  • Overdue fines for iPads are $5/day. These will not be waived because of the high demand for these items
  • You MUST return the iPad to a staff member. If you return it to the book drop slot outside the main entrance or leave it on the circulation desk, you may end up being fined for an overdue. Worse, the iPad could be taken and you would be held responsible.

We are currently circulating iPads with factory-default apps only installed. Students borrowing iPads will be responsible for installing their own apps, and these will be deleted from the iPad on return to the library. Students will need an Apple ID to connect to the App store and download new apps. Click here to see a short video on finding or creating an Apple ID.
