Course Reserve: Student Info

information regarding Library's Course reserves

Information Desk

Our Information Desks are the general reception desks for the University's Library and provide many services for patrons. There are three in total and they can be found on the main floor of the Library.

At the Library's front information desk, patrons may check out and check in materials, locate items on reserve/teacher reserves, pick up items on hold or Interlibrary Loan (ILL), purchase flash drives, and pay library fines. For these services, you'll need your Holy Family ID card.

Questions? Please visit the library's front desk or contact the Access Services Coordinator.

Course Reserves for Students

Course Reserves Service allows instructors to set aside books, films, or articles for class use.

Professors usually indicate if materials are available via course reserves in the syllabus*

*Please note: not all instructors use the course reserves service for their classes; therefore, please confirm with your professor for each class.

Searching for Reserves in Library Catalog

Patrons can search for course reserve materials by either the class name or the professor's last name within our catalog.

Borrowing Reserves

  • Reserves are located at the Front Information Desk at the Philadelphia Campus Library.
  • At the desk please provide either the professor's name, course name or book title for a librarian to look up/check the availability within our system.
  • Please note that most items on reserves are only allowed for "in-library use" and must remain in the library unless otherwise noted by the instructor.
  • Reserves are a first come first serve policy and can not be placed on hold.
