Study Room Policy & Guidelines
We’re happy to provide these study rooms for you! Here are a few rules:
-
Study Rooms are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
-
Check out a study room key and Expo markers with your student ID at the front desk.
-
The study room is now all yours for 2 HOURS. At the end of your time, please log out of the monitor to protect your information, clean the whiteboard, remove all personal items, food and trash from the room, and wipe down the tables, if necessary. Be respectful and leave the room just as you would like to find it. Lock the door and return the key and Expo markers, if borrowed, to the front desk.
-
When your 2-hour session is over, you may renew for an additional 2-hour session, as long as there is no waitlist. Please come to the front desk about 5 minutes prior to the end of your session to inquire.
-
Study Rooms cannot be checked out in advance and cannot be held or transferred to another person.
-
If all rooms are checked out, you may sign up for the waitlist. As soon as a room becomes available, you will be emailed. You have 10 minutes to claim the room before we contact the next person on the waitlist.
Remember that the study rooms are for everyone. Be respectful when using them.
-
Please do not move furniture in or out of study rooms. Leave chairs and tables neatly arranged when you leave.
-
All food must be removed/thrown out when you leave. Please check the floors and under the tables.
-
If whiteboards are used, clean the board before leaving. The EXPO marker kits are equipped with erasers and cleaning solutions.
-
Disinfectant cloths are provided to wipe down table surfaces.
Library Services reserves the right to block a patron from using the study rooms if it is reported that the room was not left in good order. You may also be assessed a fine if the furniture or monitor is damaged.
Belongings should not be left unattended in the study rooms. The library is not responsible for loss, theft, or damage to personal property.
Library Services staff can modify or cancel a study room session when necessary for cleaning or repairs.
To report a violation of the Study Room Policy, please see a Library Services staff member.
