Literature

Students of literature learn to appreciate words and the transformational power they possess. The exploration of literature invites students to investigate ideas, perspectives, cultures, people, and ways of life that differ from their own lived experience intimately and personally. Much more the mere telling of tales for entertainment, literature can soothe and enrage, instruct and inspire, and allow us to explore ideas, actions, and emotions in an arena that encourages reflection--and action!

The Northeast Philadelphia Campus' Library maintains an extensive print collection of literary texts, and the HFU Library's databases provide students with scores of critical and interpretive scholarly articles, biographical sketches, theoretical perspectives, as well as and the history of literature as a global exploration of what it means to be human.

If you're here because this is your first foray into scholarly research, begin with a review of our "Doing Library Research" guide, or just jump right in and explore our databases. Additionally, the HFU Library is fully staffed with librarians who are always happy to work with you. Get in touch!
